I’m not overly big on Valentine’s Day but absolutely had to do something special for the wonderful mums at group today!

The early interactions and connections, you have with your baby are really important. With those interactions and connections, you and your baby will develop a relationship.

The way your baby builds those close relationships is called attachment. Attachment lays the foundations for them to feel safe and secure.

When you are attentive to your babies needs, provide them with love, care and attention. You are helping them to understand themselves and the world around them.

When you spend time massaging your baby, you are being attentive to them and their needs. You are listening to you babies cues. You are giving them special 1-2-1 time that let them know they are important and loved. This all helps to enhance your bond and attachment.

I am a certified infant massage instructor with the international association of infant massage.

This means I have had full and extensive training with an international recognised organisation that specialises in infant massage

I have access to training and support from other qualified instructors.

I will always continue to learn and be held accountable to their incredibly high standards

I also have nearly 20years of experience working with families and their children from 0-5, helping them to connect, bond and understand each other.

Coming to our play and rhyme sessions can look different for you each week.

This can also depend on your little ones age… from new born, they will likely spend the whole session in your arms, feeding or sleeping or getting used to the new sound and environment around them.

As they start to get older the experience changes for you and your little one, as they become more interactive the session may feel more rewarding/worth while for you. You will start to see their preferences through the class, what they like and dislike and will start to see new skills emerging!

Please know that there are still huge benefits to bringing your tiny little one along to class even if you aren’t ’joining in’ for the first few week’s. There’s still so much they are learning about the environment around them!

I feel like I say this a lot, but we’re not like other baby classes!

I don’t call our class baby sensory, but it’s essentially a baby sensory class. Your little one can use all of their senses to explore the class. The massive difference is we don’t have all the stuff and your baby doesn’t need all the shiny, flashing lights and over stimulation to be a part of a sensory class.

We take things at your baby’s pace, I tailor the group to all of your needs. Sometimes we sing a lot and sometimes we play and chat more!

No class is ever exactly the same as the last.
I love being able to read the room and gauge what you as parents need as well as what your babies need!

I love this quote, touch is so vitally important to us as humans.

Evidence suggests positive touch like massage with babies helps to promote bonding and attachment with their parents and caregivers.
Massage promotes emotional comfort and security, and it can help to release hormones like oxytocin which promote feelings of love and connection while reducing levels of cortisol, your stress hormone.

Research shows that physical touch, such as gentle massage, can boost a baby’s immune system, helping them resist infections and illnesses. The act of touch stimulates the body’s natural defense mechanisms.

Coming to classes can be daunting, and when you get there if your baby is unsettled, needs feeding, cries or even has a poop explosion it can feel even more overwhelming.

Tiny Thinkers classes are all parent and baby led, this means it’s ok to tend to yours and your baby’s needs throughout the class - in fact I encourage it!

When your little one is teeny tiny, it’s likely they won’t like to be put down when we’re singing and that’s ok! As they grow and start to understand the world around them they will become more comfortable with it!

There are so many adaptations to how we sing and play with our baby’s at class, just follow your little one’s lead… you know what they like the best! 💛

Hi I’m Kelly, and I am the face or the person behind Tiny Thinkers

I thought I’d take some time to introduce myself, and let you know a little bit about me and why I set up Tiny Thinkers 🐝💛

I am a mum of 2 amazing kiddos. I have a boy and a girl, who are no longer Tiny Thinkers but great growing big thinkers!

I have worked with families and their young children for the last 13 years. As well as running Tiny Thinkers groups I also work part time for a psychology led parenting service.

I have a degree in Early Years and my absolute passion is working with parents and their Tiny Thinkers. I absolutely love how incredible our Tiny Thinkers are, what they are learning and how they begin to communicate with us from the moment they are born.

I love helping parents to strengthen their bond and connection through super simple interactions, this is why Tiny Thinkers was born.

I also love helping parents to connect with other parents. I see a huge need for parents to be able to meet and connect with other parents, share experiences, swap knowledge and have a safe space to do all of this!

Positive interactions, like playing peekaboo, cuddling, talking, and eye contact, stimulate your baby’s brain development.

These interactions promote cognitive development - your baby’s ability to think, understand, and learn about the world around them and how they fit into that.

Those interactions also stimulate their sensory development- sight, hearing, touch, smell, taste, vestibular & proprioception.
Sensory development is crucial as it helps babies make sense of their surroundings, build connections with caregivers, and develop essential motor and cognitive skills.

You are never just ‘playing’ or just ‘cuddling’ your helping your baby’s brain to fire up and make connections so they can learn about themselves and the world around them
